We began Bryce Valley Dog Training the summer of 2011 as a service to this community because there were no dog training classes in the area closer than an hour and a half drive away.
We will be offering classes in the late spring, summer, and early fall. We meet at the local city park, training in the shade on grass.
We will be offering two different levels of 8 week obedience classes and an agility jumpers class this season. Dogs and handlers of all ages are welcome!
We use positive training methods which include using a clicker and treats. A clicker will be provided for you, and you will be instructed on how to use it effectively in training your dog.
Classes Offered:
Puppy/Basic 1: This class is for puppies or older dogs who still need to learn manners and basic obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, leave it, watch me, mat, recalls, loose leash walking, etc. Clicker games will also be introduced.
Basic 2: This class is for dogs who have already mastered most of the basic commands listed above, but need work on longer stays, heeling, faster responses to commands, and more advanced obedience skills such as stand for exam, front, finishing to the side, etc. We will also include clicker games in this class.
Agility Jumpers: This class is designed to teach your dog to perform jumps, tunnels and weave poles, and to be able to navigate a sequence of these obstacles.
Location: Tropic Town Park.
Cost: $50 for the entire 8 week session.
Dates:
Equipment needed: Flat buckle collar, 4’-6’ leash, soft delicious treats, a toy that your dog loves, water, a towel or mat for your dog to lay on.
